Have you heard of Wyndham Hotels? Wyndham hotels is a group of brands comprising of Super8, Travelodge, Days Inn, Howard Johnson etc.. Wyndham hotel group comprised of more than 7,500 hotels across the hotel and Wyndham Rewards is the loyalty program for this 7,500 hotels.
Wyndham Rewards has revamped its program recently, you just need 15,000 points for an award night across 7,500 properties or you can use GO FAST rates – 3,000 points and cash. Of Course, as you might have guessed, reward nights are limited.
How do we earn the Wyndham Reward points quickly apart from staying in Wyndham Hotels?
Barclays issues 2 versions of Wyndham Rewards Visa Signature card. Both cards offer 2X points on every dollars spent on non-Wyndham purchases, meaning you can get one free night for every $7,500 spend.
Wyndham Rewards Visa Signature card – $69 Annual fee – This card also offers anniversary bonus
Does it make sense to apply for this card?
- You should apply for this only if you have a specific redemption in plan. Given that you can find many Wyndham hotels (Super8, Howard Johnson , Days Inn etc..) for $50-60/night. It wouldn’t make sense to redeem Wyndham rewards points for the low end properties.
- These Credit cards are issued by Barclays. Barclays can be stingy in approving applications if you opened too many cards recently or no activity in your existing Barclays cards or too many Barclays cards.
- Wyndham Rewards points expire after 4 years being posted to your account.
GO FAST Rates:
You can extend your points by using go fast rates. However, it may not make sense to use go fast rates in all cases.
Wyndham Hotels outside of USA:
Wyndham group is spread across the world. You can redeem Wyndham rewards points for rewards night outside of USA also.
Wyndham Rewards has revamped its program. Per the new redemption rates you need 15,000 for a reward night at any hotel in its group. This makes it very attractive when you redeem for a reward night at a premium hotel.
You can get 45,000 points when you apply for Wyndham Rewards Visa Signature card – $69 Annual fee or you can get 30,000 when you apply for Wyndham Rewards Visa Signature card – No Annual fee
