Target REDcard Debit Card Loading Problem

Per this Flyertalk thread and our personal experience, Target REDcard debit card loads are not working. Debit cards are not accepted by Target computers for loading Target Prepaid REDcard.

We have tried bank issued debit cards, Pin-enabled gift cards and cash.  All payment methods failed, except cash payment.

No more credit card loads to REDcard

What is the problem?

Loading Prepaid REDcard with Debit cards is not accepted by Target systems. It could be possible that Target may have updated their system to not allow debit cards for loading Target REDcard or it could be a temporary glitch. We should have more information in the next few days.

If you are planning to buy any gift cards to load them to REDcard, you may consider waiting a few days while this issue is fully understood. This is even more important, if you are planning to buy Vanilla gift cards – as vanilla gift cards can be loaded to Serve only in denominations of $49.99 or less.

Conclusion:

Debit cards are not accepted by Target computers for loading REDcard. While it is too early to come to a conclusion, the signs are not encouraging.

You may consider waiting for a few days, if you are planning to purchase any gift cards to load them to REDcard.
