Hyatt has several exotic properties across the world, however their presence in Europe is not that great, and the only exception would be Paris. There are 5 Hyatt properties in Paris and Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile is probably the economical of all.
This is a category 4 property, which means you need 15,000 points/night. However, it may not be worth while to redeem points as the regular rates are fairly reasonable due to the renovations.
This hotel is probably the tallest one in the area due to the close proximity with the convention center and a shopping mall.
We checked in around 3.00 PM and was helped by the duty manager. I requested, if we could get any upgrade or at least a room with a good view of the Eiffel tower. But, we were out of luck as we were informed that the hotel is busy and there is no upgrade available.
When we checked in to our room, our initial feeling was that the hotel needs a renovation badly. Entire room feels old and boring.
Even the bathroom is very old and requires an upgrade. It reminded us of the hotels in 1980’s.
The only positive thing out of this room is , we got a higher floor room with a partial view of the Eiffel tower.
As a Diamond member, we were able to access the Regency club which offers evening happy hours and buffet breakfast in the morning and the club lounge also looks really old and dated.
Breakfast in the morning included fruits, breads and couple of hot items.
There are evening snacks with a few alcohol options, lounge attendants were happy to make vegetarian dishes for us.
One of the highlight of the hotels is the Bar La Vue on the 34th floor, which gives a panoramic view of the city and the Eiffel tower. Reservations are recommended, if you would like to ensure that a seat is available at your preferred time.
There is also a Gym on the 33rd floor, which offers great views of the city.
During checkout, I mentioned the disappointment about the room to assistant manager, He suggested that he could have assigned a room from one of the renovated floors 1-6. He refunded a portion of the money we paid for the room.
Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile is one the 5 Hyatt properties in Paris. This is a category 4 property, which requires 15,000 points per award night.
This property is in the middle of the renovation and many of the rooms needs it badly. This is expected to complete later this year. If you are staying during the weekdays, expect to hear some noise.
If you happen to stay here, request a renovated room even though you are a Diamond member. In that case, you need to come down to first floor and take another elevator for higher floor to access club lounge.
