How to load with money with Credit Card?
Please be warned that you may be charged with Cash Advance fees when you load with Credit Card, but can be avoided with little planning. As of this date, Visa credit Cards issued by Citi, Bank of America, US Bank and PNC are coded as Cash Advance. you can follow this Flyertalk thread for up to date information.
As always, I would recommend starting with small amounts and check how the transaction is coded before proceeding on full scale.
Step 1: Once you sign up and activate your new card, login to your account to add a credit card
Step 2: Click on “Banks and Cards”
Step 3: Click on “Link Credit Card”, you can also link a Bank account in this step (to with draw money from Serve)
Step 4: Enter the Credit Card information.
- Note that the Credit Card must be on your name.
- Prepaid Cards, Authorized user cards are not allowed
- In some instances, you may be asked to send an ID and a picture of the Credit Card for verification.
Step 5: Enter the billing address for the Credit card you are linking.
Tip for adding Barclays Credit Card: If you are linking a Barclays Credit Card, you may get an error with address verification, especially if you live in a Apartment. A Flyertalk member – miadeals, found a solution for adding the Barclays Credit card.
Barclays stores the address differently in their system (apt number in the first line and street name in the second line) so when you enter address in Serve, enter “Apt or Unit” in the address line 1, yes, just “APT or Unit” (no need for the number)
Step 6: After your account is linked, click “Add Money” to get started
Once your account is linked, from next time you just click “Add money” from the main menu.
Step 7: You can load Serve up to $200/day and $1,000/month with a Credit Card. Click “Review” and you will be asked for pin number to complete the transaction.
Tip: If you also linked a Bank account to your Serve account, the funding source is defaulted to bank account. Make sure to change to Credit card before adding money.
How to use the funds loaded to Serve?
Pay Bills: Serve lets you pay Credit Cards, Utilities and many more. If the biller is not in the system, you will receive a check.
Send Money: You can send money to another person via email or mobile number. they can deposit that money to their Serve account.
Withdraw funds: Once you link a bank account, you can also withdraw funds to your checking account.
Settings -> Withdraw funds -> Transfer to Bank -> Enter Amount -> Review -> Enter Pin
Serve is a great choice to easily meet Credit card minimum spending. You can only get one Serve account per SSN.
