Etihad Withdraws A380 Between Mumbai and Abu Dhabi

Etihad Airways launched A380 service between Abu Dhabi and Mumbai from May 01, 2016.  We had the opportunity to fly on the Inaugural flight to Mumbai.

Per Business Standard,  it looks like the A380 will be removed between Abu Dhabi and Mumbai and will re-deployed on Abu Dhabi and Paris route from July 01, 2017.

Owing to the low demand in First class and Residence, Etihad will be operating A340-600 between Abu Dhabi and Mumbai instead of A380.

If you are eying this route to try the A380, you should try this sooner than later. There are at least 2 award seats available on most days. so you could use 40,000 AA miles for one way first class award tickets between Mumbai and Abu Dhabi.

Effective July 01, 2017. Etihad is swapping the A380 between Abu Dhabi and Mumbai with an A340 citing low demand to First apartment and Residence.
