Conrad Maldives Part 3: Food & Other Activities

We have covered Conrad Maldives in 2 parts about the arrival experience and the villas available. In this post, we will cover about the restaurants and other activities that can be done in the resort.

One of the beautiful thing in the resort is, you do not need to carry your wallet once you have completed the check-in. You just need to mention your room number and sign the receipt for any purchase in the resort.

You could use the Dhoni that goes between the 2 islands, which operates between 7.00 AM and 11.00 PM. You could always call the guest services for a buggy to pick you from your villa.

You have choice of several restaurants in the resort offering a wide variety and theme. As an Hilton HHonors Diamond members, you could enjoy the breakfast at Atoll Market in the main island or the Vilu restaurant  on the small island, where there are only water villas.

Here are the pictures of the breakfast Buffet from Atoll Market.

I am impressed to see a wide range of fresh fruits in the buffet, given that every thing has to be imported to the island.

Vilu restauranat is more of Ala Carte vs. Atoll Market, which offers a lavish buffet.

We also got the chance to enjoy the happy hour in the evening for being a Diamond member.

One thing you notice is none of restaurants offer printed menu, all the menus are shown on i-pads which enables easy update and hence you normally do not find prices on the Internet.

Out of all the restaurants, you could found reasonable prices at the Rangali bar. There is also live performance in the evenings.

On the highlight of the resort is the underwater sea restaurant “Ithaa”. Experience at Ithaa is amazing, but also expensive. On every purchase, you should add Expect to pay  $195 + 10% Service tax + 12% GST  per person for lunch and $320 ++ for dinner. The cheapest option to experience the Ithaa restaurant is the cocktail hour from 11.00 AM to 12.00 PM which will cost $65++

You enter the Ithaa undersea restaurant through the Sunset grill.

You could see a lot of sea life while enjoying your drink/meal.  Reservations are highly suggested due to the popularity. Scuba divers cleans the glass from the exterior just before the restaurant opens, so be sure to get in as soon as it opens to get a good view.

You can get a glimpse of the restaurant from the deck.

There is also Mandhoo Restaurant which offers complimentary tea between 4.00-5.00 PM for Gold & Diamond members. Also, you can view the fish feeding in the afternoon here.

There is a spa on each island. The over water spa on the Rangali Island is slightly pricey than the Spa Retreat in the main island. You get $25 of a treatment for being a Diamond member.

There are 2 pools in the resort. The big infinity pool is located on the main island close to Rangali bar and restaurant.

There is also an adult only pool in the Rangali island (with Water villas only)

There are water sports in the resort. All non-motorised activities are complimentary, while the motorized activities are chargeable.  Water sports and diving center are operated by a third party.

One of the highlight is the opportunity to capture the sunrise.

There is even opportunity for some shopping if you have deep pockets.

Some of the other facilities include Kids club, Gym etc..

Conclusion:

Conrad Maldives is one of the luxurious resort in Maldives that can be booked with points. This Flyertalk thread provides a lot of up to date information.

If you are Snorkeling/Scuba diving person, you could have a lot of fun. The food and activities are expensive compared to a regular resort and you should add 23.2% for any purchase towards the 10% Service charge + 12% GST (on top of the service charge and purchase amount)
