Maldives is probably a dream destination for many, due to its pristine beaches , luxurious resorts, tranquil and tropical environment. We often find celebrities across the world hiding in Maldives.
One of the few resorts that we can stay with points is Conrad Maldives. You can redeem the free nights earned from Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve card or use 95,000 points per night towards a Beach Villa.
Prepaid rates tend to cost around $1,000 USD per night, a great value if you redeem the free nights from Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve card
You should assign reasonable funds for the trip, even if you can cover the flights and hotel stay with Miles and Points. You will be transferred to the resort through a sea plane, which will cost $550 per adult (including taxes) and $275 for Child. Sea plane transfer is only available for guests that arrive Male before 4.00 PM, if you are arriving after 4.00 PM, but before 10.00 PM – you are transferred through a domestic plane to a near by Island and then transferred through a speed boat to the Resort.
If arriving after 10.00PM, you would require an Overnight stay at the Male Island. Conrad Maldives can make the stay arrangements for you and the cost will be added to your total bill.
We arrived Male around 3PM and as soon as we exit Immigration and Customs, Conrad representative is waiting for us at the arrival hall to guide us through the transit to the resort. He also helped check-in the luggage at the Trans Maldivian airways, which is a few steps away from the arrivals.
After check-in, you will be transported to the Sea plane terminal via a dedicated shuttle. The ride will take approximately 10 minutes.
Conrad Maldives has a dedicated lounge in the sea plane terminal. Guest have complimentary access to the lounge while waiting for the sea plane, until 5PM.
We were given cold towel along with welcome drink. Guests can enjoy snacks and also get a 10 minute complimentary massage and fresh up while waiting for the Sea plane transfer.
Luxury starts from the lounge itself, you could relax in the comfortable seating and watch the sea planes take off and land.
You could enjoy snacks while waiting.
You will notice exemplary service from the moment you arrive, lounge attendants quickly came by to offer us juice along with a quick tour of the lounge. Our passports were scanned to save time with the check-in formalities after arriving at the resort.
After spending about 30 minutes in the lounge, it was time for our Sea plane departure. We were given our boarding passes along with a couple of water bottles and ear plugs.
Our luggage is loaded on the back of the plane and we were headed on our way to the beautiful Conrad Maldives.
The sea plane ride is about 25-30 minutes to the resort and we can see several other resorts while up in the air. There was only one staff member along with us, so it was pretty much a private airplane ride to the resort.
We would see several other resorts along our way to the Conrad Maldives
As soon as we landed, we were greeted by a big team along with the personal concierge, who will look after our needs, helps make reservations etc..during our stay are at the property.
We stayed at the arrival lounge for a few minutes, where we were offered fresh towels, while the luggage is being unloaded.
We got an upgrade to a Water villa room for the entire duration of our stay. We were assigned a room in the Rangali Island, so we headed straight to the reception located on that Island, where an authorization of $2,000 USD was made to cover the incidental expenses.
Conrad Maldives is a beautiful resort and is one of the option for folks who are obsessed with Miles and Points. The only way to the resort is a short sea plane ride from the Maldives Airport.
In the next post, we will review the Beach villa, Water villa and other room types along with some of the activities available in the island.
