Now, there is a new addition to the list – Japan Airlines. You can now redeem Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan miles for awards tickets with Japan Airlines and most of them can be booked online.
Japan Airlines operates from several gateways in USA – Los Angeles, San Diego, San Fransisco, New York, Dallas, Chicago & Boston.

You just need 60,000 Alaska miles for a one way award ticket in business class between India and USA.
You just need 65,000 miles for a one way business class between South East Asia and USA.

You need 25,000 miles for a one way business class award between Kuala Lumpur and Delhi. That is close to 15 hours of flying in business class on their brand new 787 aircrafts.
It may sound odd to fly 15 hours for traveling between Kuala Lumpur and Delhi, but Alaska Airlines allows a stopover on one way tickets as well. You could fly from Delhi to Kuala Lumpur on a cheap ticket, tour Malaysia, then fly to Tokyo stay for a few days and then head back to Delhi on the same award (KUL-NRT-DEL)
Another key feature of the Alaska Mileage Plan is the ability to change or cancel the awards at no cost as long as the changes are made before 60 days of scheduled departure.
You can now use your Alaska Mileage Plan miles for award tickets on Japan Airlines and the mileage rates are pretty lucrative.
The best part is the mileage rates for travel with in Asia – you can fly 15 hours in business class on the brand new 787-8 and can cover multiple destinations.
